LNWR's Crewe Depot has a modern and efficient tandem 'Sculfort' wheel lathe capable of re-profiling wheels accurately and efficiently. Installed in its own dedicated facility, the wheel lathe is capable of much higher throughput rates than other comparable machines.

Operated around the clock, LNWR's wheel lathe provides customers with wheel overhaul time-slots convenient for their operations. This results in better availability and reduced down-time for operators.

Integrated design means that post tyre turning checks are carried out and completed directly after re-profiling, further reducing down-time.
